Michael J. Shockley brings over 25 years of experience in financial planning and investment analysis to RGT. Before joining the firm, he was a practicing attorney and is a member of the bars of both California and the District of Columbia. Mike has also served as a financial advisor for a boutique investment firm specializing in fixed income securities as well as a large Wall Street firm. Mike’s extensive experience in real estate and business acquisition, disposition and succession planning is an invaluable asset to our clients.
Mike has been heavily involved in professional organizations throughout his career. He is currently a member of Circle Ten Council’s (B.S.A) Advisory Board and the Advisory Council for National Advisor Trust, NA. He served on the National Board of the Financial Planning Association as well as having served as past president and board member of the Orange County, California Chapter of the Financial Planning Association. He is a member of the Association of Corporate Growth, and currently serves on the DFW Chapter’s Membership Committee.
Mike earned his Juris Doctor degree from Loyola Law School of Los Angeles where he was an editor for the International and Comparative Law Review as well as a member of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team. He holds both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration degrees from Loyola Marymount University. Mike is a member of the St. Thomas More Law Honor Society and Beta Gamma Sigma, the National Business Honor Society. He was a varsity letterman of Loyola’s NCAA Division I Soccer Team. In addition, he attained the rank of Eagle in the Boy Scouts.
Mike coached youth soccer for several years, including club soccer. He has also given his time to the Special Olympics as a soccer and basketball coach.
